Here’s a photo of the house at 1000 Magnolia (corner of Ewing), which has been beautifully renovated and is now for sale—another instance of the neighborhood being upgraded!

Of the derelict houses in Milton Park, four have been demolished and replaced by new houses; one demolished and the lot up for sale, and a few more nicely renovated.  Thus the neighborhood is upgrading.

Citywide Big CleanUp in October 2021

From Marcia:  For the City’s Big CleanUp, I registered the MIMA Neighborhood as a team, which turned out to consist of 15 people.  A BIG Thank You goes to Gabrielle, Terry, John, Sally, Carol, Howard, JP, Teresa, Greer and Mallory who brought along 3 neighbor boys—Dorian, Gabriel, and Julian–Irene (who worked the table at “Command Central”), and Joel, who took photos.  And thanks to Hutch who allowed us to set up Command Central in the parking lot of his apartment building.

The City provided T-shirts, gloves, and trash bags.  The group together picked up over 100 lbs of trash!  Yay!

Earlier in the week George volunteered to help Irene dig a cactus out that was in front of her mailbox and spilling out into the street.

Irene and I are now helping a new resident whose water got shut off, has no car and is on disability.

The next day I pulled up the crabgrass in the sidewalk, then shoveled and swept up the sand so that people could walk on the sidewalk without getting sand in their shoes and tripped over the crabgrass!

The City was very pleased with our contributions.  Commendations were issued to all volunteers.
